McDonald’s says “I’m Lovin’ it” to Besam doors in Hungary

Besam in Hungary is now the exclusive provider of automatic doors for all McDonald’s restaurants in that country.

“Automatic doors are not commonly used in fastfood restaurants in Hungary,” explains Country Manager Csaba Benko. “We had to sell them on the benefits of automation while at the same time demonstrating why Besam products were the best solution.”

So Besam embarked on a pilot project that placed a UniSlide Telescopic door in a McDonald’s restaurant connected to a busy railway station in Budapest. Adding to the challenge was the fact that the restaurant was on the ground floor of a building that had been designed by the famous French engineer Gustave Eiffel.

“It’s a protected building because of its historical and architectural significance,” Csaba says.  “Any changes made to its façade had to meet very strict guidelines.”

After a year of testing, McDonald’s officials felt Besam had delivered on its promise of reliable operation and safety, as well as improved traffic flow and convenience for their customers. Besam has since created entrance solutions at 25 different McDonald’s restaurant locations and provides preventative maintenance and service as well.
