The Assignment

• Providing an automated entrance and interior doors for the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art in Humlebæk, Denmark

The Challenge

• Creating an entrance that comfortably and efficiently accommodates 500,000 visitors to the museum each year
• Automating existing internal gallery doors that are in some cases extremely large and heavy
• Installing new doors that enhance climate control and security for the museum’s vast and valuable collection of modern art
• To create solutions that would complement the interior design of the building and individual galleries

The Solution

Besam was chosen as the supplier because of its expertise in automating existing doors and its creativity in developing solutions for unique applications. Besam’s durableUniSlide operator was recommended for several large and heavy existing doors, which previously had to be opened and closed manually by museum personnel. Besam also created several special sliding door solutions for individual galleries featuring insulated glass, which enhanced both theft prevention and climate protection for the various collections.
